Light And Dark -- Permissions Post | Heart Sensing
Sense
While he isn't quite as good at it as Aqua or his teacher and father figure, Eraqus, Terra is capable of sensing the Light and Darkness within a person's Heart. For the most part, it's relatively passive, though if he actively focuses he can sense a great deal about a person just from this--the balance of Light vs. Darkness, and whatever they might be feeling particularly strongly on the surface. He can also tell how strong the hearts of those he interacts with are. This leads to the most important thing: the actual permissions part of this permission post.
- Can Terra sense the Light and Darkness within your character's Heart? If so, then-
- On a scale of 1-10 (One being pure Light, and thus very rare, while 10 is reserved for those with nothing but Darkness), where does your character fall? Do they have more Light, or Darkness? Bear in mind that numbers such as 1 and 10 are very rare, and only happen in special circumstances. If you feel your character actually merits being on either extreme of the scale, then tell me why.
- Just how strong a heart does your character have? (Note: Strength of heart equates to how strongly your character's beliefs and will are, and their willingness to defend those beliefs.)
- If your character doesn't have a Heart, or is able to mask the presence of such, will Terra be able to sense this?
What is Darkness, anyway?
Darkness is born from the more negative aspects of a person's heart; anger, fear, hatred--all negative emotions have their roots in Darkness, and as such, Darkness-users often walk a very narrow line. While Riku and Terra arguably use Darkness with moderate success, they have lost something--their innocence. They don't look at the world in quite the same way as their friends and fellow Keybearers.
People with Darkness in their hearts generally have a reason for it, whether it is a deep-seated fear of loss, some form of jealousy or inadequacy that drives them, or any number of reasons that might leave a metaphorical 'stain' on one's heart. People with more 'negative' or 'cynical' personalities tend to have more Darkness in their hearts.

Just how strong a heart does your character have? He's noted to be extremely strong-willed so. Yeah. Pretty strong I think.

Ohhhh boy. Like. 9. He's got some light. A little light. He doesn't show it often. Then again he's not outright psychotic often. But he's had too many losses, too much jealousy, too much pain to be anything close to the light side of the scale.
Just how strong a heart does your character have? Incredibly strong. He's survived this many incarnations without completely losing it (well he's lost it but he always recovers somewhat), so. Yeah.

this is a bit of a toughie. while Lea definitely errs more on the side of Light anymore, especially where Certain Parties are involved, he's still got his fair share of Darkness in him. he doesn't kick puppies or trip old ladies down the stairs, but if there's a zombie apocalypse he's not gonna go back for you unless you're somebody he really cares about. so i'd give him a good strong 4.5

pretty darn strong, given that he maintained sentience when he lost it. and basically forged himself a new one before he got his original one back.

even if he didn't already know Lea used to be Axel i'd think Terra could prolly tell that his heart had been through the wringer, so to speak, so take that as you will. :|b

Can Terra sense the Light and Darkness within your character's Heart? No. Attempts at perceiving Klara's heart will instead give an distinct impression of dirt, or dust, or clay, sort of like biting into your sandwich expecting mayo or blackberry jam and instead getting a mouthful of topsoil.

If your character doesn't have a Heart, or is able to mask the presence of such, will Terra be able to sense this? It seems like she does have a Heart, but it just doesn't Work the right way.

Just how strong a heart does your character have? Well, it's pretty strong, since he was able to become a human form Nobody, but at the same time it's not as strong as it could be due to Xemnasnort's manipulations.

Just how strong a heart does your character have?....IT'S LIKE SUNSHINE. But uh, stong I guess? It is propped up by Sora though....
